Tightlining Defined
Tightlining is not a complicated new term or technique in bass
fishing.  My definition of tightlining is simply this;

Casting a small 1/16 or 1/8 ounce jig on 4 pound line and a medium
7' spinning rod.  The angler must maintain a "tight line" while
shaking the rod tip and retrieving the jig slowly, on a controlled
slack line, allowing the jig to fall as a pendulum, back to the boat.
Favorable Conditions To Tightline
Late fall and early winter or anytime water temperatures are less
than 55 degrees F. and the clear water impoundment contains
smallmouth or spotted bass.
